This tree:
I painted this three years ago during a time when God was doing a great deal of healing in my heart. I was living with Kim and her family at the time, and I painted it to hang in my bedroom…until I was finished and Kim said, “Hannah, I think that is going to hang in the kitchen.”
And there it has hung ever since then…
In June, Kim approached me and showed me a quilt with another tree on it, with these AMAZING letters done by an awesome lady named Lindsay Ostrom. Kim said, “I think it’s time for a new wall hanging for the kitchen. You can paint it and I can sew it.”
I took the book, we gathered supplies and I headed to Colorado for two weeks. I finally got inspired the last day I was there…though I did not measure the wall hanging and made it so huge that when I got back, Kim and I decided that it was no longer a wall hanging but a quilt. (She’s teaching me to measure now…haha.)
Sooo…it started with a tree.
And this tree has opened a huge door of
possibility and creativity
as we set out to
express the heart of God
through art.

I am honored to be a part of such an inspiring project. You two did a beautiful job… i can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
I was so uplifted by this story that I read on Lindsay’s blog, not to mention the beauty of the quilts. Janet not Tom
